0843 robocall — who allows these?

Three calls in one hour from different 0843 numbers, all automated 'your warranty has expired' nonsense. 0843 is service-charge rate so the receiver gets a per-minute revenue share when people call back — that's the business model.

Who regulates this? Should be Ofcom and the Phone-paid Services Authority. Reported to Ofcom complaints — they can fine the originator up to £2m for persistent silent/robocalls.

    Ofcom did fine three call-centres in 2025 between £350k and £1.2m for exactly this pattern. The reports do work; they just take time.
