020 7946 call — turned out to be a drama-reserved range

Had a missed call from 020 7946 1234 claiming to be from 'fraud prevention'. Looked it up here — the entire 020 7946 XXXX range is reserved by Ofcom for use in drama and broadcast productions (so plot phone numbers in soaps don't ring real people).
Which means it's impossible for a real subscriber to dial me from that range. The CLI was 100% spoofed. Reported to Action Fraud, blocked, moving on.

Great catch. The Ofcom drama-reserved ranges are 020 7946 XXXX, 0114 496 XXXX, 0117 496 XXXX, 07700 900XXX, and 0306 999 XXXX. Any of these calling you in real life is a guaranteed spoof. See How Ofcom allocates UK phone numbers.
